Your technical project
Your project in 07 key steps
Girasole Energies takes care of everything!
01
First exchange and site visit
We’ll discuss your needs with you, then a Girasole advisor will visit you to assess the potential of your land, roof or parking lot.
02
Project design
We design a solution adapted to your situation and carry out a technical study to guarantee a balanced and viable project.
03
Project approval and signature
Once we have validated the project together, we formalize our commitment with a clear, tailor-made contract.
04
Administrative procedures
We manage all the authorizations and formalities associated with your project.
05
Work and connection
Our teams handle the construction of the building or photovoltaic structure, as well as the connection to the grid.
06
Your new infrastructure available
Your building or installation is finished and ready to use, with no management constraints for you.
07
Follow-up and end of contract
We maintain the system for the duration of the contract. At the end of the contract, you can choose between extension, disposal or dismantling.
Conditions of eligibility
To ensure the success of your project, make sure you meet the following conditions:
With some providers, ground-mounted photovoltaic power plants can extend over substantial areas, in some cases reaching outputs of several hundred megawatt-peak. Smaller or more restricted areas have often been neglected.
To support this type of real estate asset, Girasole Energies installs small ground-mounted power plants on land areas of between 1 and 3 hectares, equivalent to an average output of less than one megawatt-peak.
For the integration project to remain viable, a compatible plot of land with a usable area of over 10,000 square meters is required.
Any questions?
Answers to your questions about ground-mounted power plants.
Do I need planning permission to build a ground-mounted power plant?
As a guideline, a prior declaration of works is still sufficient for ground-mounted photovoltaic plants not exceeding 250 kilowatt-peak.
Beyond that, a building permit is required. This is issued following a public inquiry, if the site conditions so require.
For all installations above 300 kilowatt-peak, an environmental assessment is required. Often referred to as an “impact study”, it assesses the project’s potential impact on natural resources, the population, biodiversity and the wider environment (landscape, etc.).
Where does the electricity generated by the ground-mounted power plant go?
This electricity can be resold entirely to EDF OA* at guaranteed rates for 20 years. This is the solutionsolution Girasole Energies for ground-mounted power plants.
Alternatively, electricity can be used directly on the site production siteThis is known as self-consumptionwith or without battery storagewith or without resale of surplus to the grid. With the rise in electricity prices, self-consumption allows large consumers to reduce their bills.but in this case you need to plant sizing.
Our teams can help you choose the solutions best suited to your needs. your needs.
What happens in the event of inheritance, resale, or if Girasole goes out of business?
The lease we enter into, whether it’s a construction lease or an emphyteutic lease, is attached to a thing, in this case the ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant, and not to a person, Girasole Energies or you.
In the event of resale of your land or inheritance before maturity, you will need to inform the transferee of the presence of a lease, which will also be registered with the mortgage registry. The lease will be transferred automatically with the building. The new owner and Girasole will retain the same mutual commitments.
If Girasole goes out of business, nothing changes for you. Power plants that are still in operation will automatically be put up for sale. Many investors are keen to acquire this type of asset. Which means you’d be changing partners for a new contractor, with exactly the same rights and obligations.
Incidentally, Girasole is backed by a leading shareholder, Mirova, and raised €96 million in early 2023. This makes Girasole a particularly credible financial player. Our demise is not on the agenda!
